Positano es una pueblo de 3.862 habitantes, localizado en la región de Campania, Italia. Situada a la orilla del Golfo de Salerno, a unos 40 km de Nápoles.
Es uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes de la Costa Amalfitana desde los años 50 del siglo XX que gracias a un suave clima unido a un bellísimo entorno, propició la llegada de turistas adinerados de toda Europa y Estados Unidos.

Positano is a town of 3,862 residents, in the region of Campania, Italy. Located on the shore of the Gulf of Salerno, about 40 km from Naples. 

One of the most important tourist destinations of the Amalfi Coast from the 50's of XX century thanks to a mild climate combined with a beautiful environment, led to the arrival of wealthy tourists from all Europe and America.

Uno de los más ilustres visitantes del pueblo, el novelista norteamericano John Steinbeck contribuyó a dar a conocer el atractivo del pueblo con su artículo de Mayo de 1953 en el Harper´s Bazaar: "Positano te marca. Es un lugar de ensueño que no parece real mientras se está allí, pero que se hace real en la nostalgia cuando te has ido".

One of the most illustrious visitors to the town, the American novelist John Steinbeck helped to raise awareness of the attractiveness of the village with his May 1953 article in Harper's Bazaar:

"Positano bites deep, it is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone."
